Clockwork Heart

Pieces fall one by one

Raining down, cogs, wheels and springs

Puzzle the pieces together and see

If you can fix the wheels of your broken heart

May take some time but then you’ll feel it spark

Fix the gears of your clockwork heart

Afraid, scared, cold

Shivering in this metallic prison that I’ve known

Strand me alone here, no escape

Corpulent machines, infrared beams

Tie me down with silken, molten alloy strings

Do your part to my clockwork heart

This heart is made with clockwork gears

That turns and grinds throughout the years

Turned askew by but a single tear

Left to die and filled with fear

Bleeds this heart with clockwork gears

Shiny and sleek they reflect like mirrors

Mechanical heart, bleeding oil

Escapement ticking, rhythmic pulsing

Steady rhythm, haunts the halls of my mind

Mechanical being, unwinding springs, heart cogs turn, then subsequently break

I need to escape the gears of my clockwork heart

This heart is made with clockwork gears

That turns and grinds throughout the years

Turned askew by but a tear

Left to die and filled with fear

Bleeds this heart with clockwork gears

Shiny and sleek they reflect like mirrors

Can’t escape what you create

Iron box that holds me to this fate

Chisel my chain from this decay

Piece the wheels of my broken heart

It took some time but now I’ve felt the spark

All that’s left is my clockwork heart

Digital intelligence, enhanced eyes, robotic lies

Determined to live a fictional life

Insert wires dig the scalpel in

Doesn’t hurt synthetic skin

Reprogram to give it a spark

State-of-the-art clockwork

This heart is made with clockwork gears

That turns and grinds throughout the years

Turned askew by but a tear

Left to die and filled with fear

Bleeds this heart with clockwork gears

Shinny and sleek they reflect like mirrors

These cogs and springs and clockwork gears

Inside my chest ringing loud and clear

The echo of these clockwork gears

That turns and grinds throughout the years

Turned askew by but a tear

Left to die and filled with fear

Bleeds this heart with clockwork gears

Shinny and sleek the reflect like mirrors

These cogs and springs and clockwork gears

Inside my chest the echo of this heart’s

Clockwork gears

I’ll make it through the years

My heart is made, my heart is made with clockwork gears
